Several festivals throughout the year fill North Tahoe with excitement and buzz. Fourth of July at North Lake Tahoe starts a day early with fireworks at Kings Beach and culminates with fireworks shows on the 4th at Commons Beach and Squaw Valley.

The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival is a beloved annual event at Sand Harbor State Park in Incline Village. The festival season runs July to August and features a series of the Bard’s plays performed outdoors against the backdrop of the lake, called by some “the most scenic venue in the world.”

Also in the village is August's Brews, Jazz and Funk Fest featuring free music and selections from some thirty breweries.

Hot August Nights is an “annual celebration of America’s love affair with cars and rock and roll” that takes place each August in Reno, NV. The event harks back to the “good ol’ days” of the fifties and sixties with concerts – many of them free – a prom night, “controlled cruises,” and classic car shows.

Reno Rodeo is the “wildest, richest rodeo in the West” and you can experience the excitement for a week each June. The top cowboys and cowgirls on the rodeo circuit always show up at the Reno Rodeo. In addition to great rodeo competitions and showcases, there is also a carnival, country shops, great food, and good fun.
